When life inevitably takes us in half a dozen directions all at once, it begs the question: what are the conjunctions that hold it all together?
When old ideas don’t work anymore, or when new ideas just seem more interesting; when we learn the social contract that used to exist has disappeared or changed; when good intentions and hard work are not enough; when, despite our best efforts, we find ourselves broken and having wounded others; what can we rely on to make sense of it all?
Is the universe fundamentally a friendly place, or not? Does Love win in the end? Does your life make some kind of ultimate sense? When all is said and done, what song will you be singing?
When we look at the stories of our individual and common life, and seek out the conjunctions that hold the myriad plot lines together, the resiliency and depth of our principles matter.
