The world’s major spiritual traditions all agree that one of the primary spiritual tasks for humans is to learn to live in the “now.” We either replay the past, or worry or anticipate the future, and the result of that is we do not spend a lot of time in the present moment. Most meditation practices have as one of their central purposes helping those who practice them access the present moment. 

 

Another way to do that is to focus on a question related to our purpose or values or principles rather than focusing on the stories we tell ourselves. How are you living out your principles, values, or deep purpose today?
