It’s difficult to take a risk without trusting that the risk will lead us closer to that which we seek. When arthropods molt, they have to shed their old (too small) shell before they grow a new (larger) one. Growth that is worth the effort almost always involves risking the future in some way, and trusting that what is to come will be better than what has been.
